Flagship Program
Insight to Impact
Program Goal
“Harness collective knowledge, data and innovation to shape a stronger future for sport.”
Despite the rich intellectual heritage and diverse expertise across Islamic countries, there remains a critical gap in how this collective knowledge is mobilized to address challenges within the sports sector. Greater coordination and action across the ISSA’s member countries is needed to leverage their shared resources and support progress in sports development.
Insight to Impact is designed to enhance ISSA member countries’ presence on the global stage and shape the future of sports development through collective knowledge and action.

Challenges were identified in:
- Underutilization of opportunities for advancing sports knowledge
- Lack of coordinated academic collaboration and research efforts
- Absence of a unified platform for knowledge exchange
Projected impact
Insight to Impact provides a clear framework for harnessing collective knowledge to drive forward the sports sector, empowering scholars, professionals and institutions across ISSA member countries to come together and create meaningful change.
The program consists of three components:
Academic research
Capacity building and integration
Job market and future skills development
Global imperative of the knowledge economy
The knowledge economy refers to an economic system in which knowledge, creativity and information become key commodities that generate wealth. It serves as an engine for economic growth and social progress and unlocks sustainable development by reducing inequality and improving the well-being of populations. Moreover, SDG 4 aims to provide inclusive and equitable quality education for all.
The knowledge economy is directly linked to sports development in the following ways:
Innovation in sports science and training
Education and talent identification
Technology and data-driven decision making
Infrastructure and sports facility development
Sports as a driver of economic growth
Empowering policymakers with research and data
Importance of access to quality physical education
Addressing the job market mismatch, reskilling and lifelong learning
Empowering women and youth in sports
