What is Ju-Jitsu?
Jujitsu is a martial art and combat sport focusing on self-defense through grappling and submission techniques such as joint locks and chokes. Modern Brazilian Jujitsu (Ne-Waza) developed from traditional Japanese styles, emphasizing ground control and leverage, allowing smaller athletes to overcome larger opponents.Ju-Jitsu and the ISSA
Jujitsu will make its debut at Riyadh 2025, featuring 116 athletes competing for 9 gold medals (5 men’s / 4 women’s). Competitions will take place on 20–21 November 2025 at Malaz Combat Hall.Allocation & Eligibility
JJIF will allocate 116 slots across male and female athletes based on NOC/NSF participation, JJIF world ranking, universality, and host nation allocation.
Each event category will have a minimum of 12 entries, with at least eight slots per category assigned based on JJIF world ranking.
Each NOC can register up to nine athletes (five male/four female), with the host nation registering one per event category. JJIF may also allocate three “Wild Card” slots.
Registered athletes must comply with the JJIF sporting code, regulating age divisions and weight categories.
