The Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) has launched a new Resource Mobilization initiative under its flagship Forward through Sport program, providing its 57 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) with practical tools and regular insights to strengthen their capacity to fund and finance sport development.
The launch includes the publication of a practical guide to Resource Mobilization for National Sport Bodies, an introduction to funding and finance for sport, alongside the new Forward through Sport Resource Mobilization Circular, a regular publication alerting NOCs to relevant opportunities, emerging trends and practical learning in sport financing.
Forward through Sport was first launched during the ISSA General Assembly and dedicated session held in December 2024, and has since been developed into a comprehensive program supporting member countries in integrating physical activity and sport into their national development priorities. The Resource Mobilization initiative represents the next step in delivering on that commitment, reflecting ISSA's view of sport as a force for solidarity, diplomacy and development, and a proven enabler of sustainable progress.
Through the initiative, ISSA will support member NOCs and sport partners in identifying relevant funding opportunities and strengthening their readiness to mobilize resources for sport and development. The initiative builds on the momentum generated by ISSA's transformation into an organization harnessing the power of sport in support of sustainable development across its member states.
