Riyadh is delighted to host the second Coordination Commission (CoCom) meeting for the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games, taking place on August 24–25, 2025. Following the first meeting in April this year, the conference saw members of the Commission and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) reconvene as preparations ahead of the Games continue to take shape.

The Coordination Commission (CoCom) is a specialized body under the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA), responsible for monitoring preparation progress, ensuring operational readiness, and supporting the successful delivery of the Games.

The CoCom is composed of the following members:

Ms. Konul Nurullayeva (Chair, Azerbaijan) Gen. Idriss Dokony (Member, Chad) Mr. Saeed Abdulghaffar (Member, United Arab Emirates) Mr. Faris Al-Kooheji (Member, Bahrain) Mr. Oybek Kasimov (Member, Uzbekistan)

The meeting included introductory presentations from various departments and venue tours, with Day 2 sessions hosted at the Athletes’ Village to offer a closer look at on-site operations and athlete accommodation. The visit will further strengthen collaboration between ISSA and the LOC to help guarantee the overall success of Riyadh 2025, providing the CoCom another strategically crucial opportunity to directly observe the progress made in the trajectory towards the Games.

The Islamic Solidarity Games will take place from 7 to 21 November 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will feature around 3,500 athletes from ISSA member countries competing in 21 sports and 2 para-sports.
