Mozambique's Collaboration With ISSA
The National Olympic Committee of Mozambique was established in 1978 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1979. Mozambique began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005, and also took part in the Baku 2017 and Konya 2021 editions.

Sprinter Creve Armando Machava made history for Mozambique at the fourth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games – Baku 2017 – by winning the country’s first-ever gold medal in the 400m hurdles. In the same event, his compatriot Kurt Couto added to the success by winning the bronze medal.
