Maldives' Collaboration With ISSA
The Maldives Olympic Committee was established in 1985 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the same year.
The Maldives began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

As of the Islamic Solidarity Games, the Maldives has one bronze medal to its name, achieved in the fifth edition of the Games – Konya 2021.

Fathimath Ali
Table tennis player Fathimath Ali became the first Maldivian female athlete to qualify for the Olympic Games (Paris 2024). She also played a major role in securing the Maldives' first-ever medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games after winning the bronze medal in the women's team event in the Konya 2021 edition.
