The Guinean National Olympic and Sports Committee was established in 1964 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1965.
Guinea began participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the very first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

Wrestler Fatoumata Camara made history by becoming the first athlete to win a medal for Guinea in the Islamic Solidarity Games. She earned a silver medal in the 62 kg category at the 5th edition – Konya 2021.
