The Lebanese Olympic Committee was established in 1947 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1948. Lebanon began participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the very first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

Lebanese swimmer Lynn El Hajj became the first Lebanese athlete to win two medals in the history of Lebanon’s participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games. She won two bronze medals in the 100m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke events.

Lebanese taekwondo athlete Laetitia Aoun is considered one of the best taekwondo players in the Asia region thanks to her achievements in various championships. She has previously won a bronze medal at the Asian Championships and a bronze medal at the Asian Games, and she earned a bronze medal in the 57 kg category at the fifth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games – Konya 2021.
