Nigeria's Collaboration With ISSA
The Nigerian Olympic Committee was established in 1951 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the same year.
Nigeria began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games in the fourth edition in 2017 and also took part in the Konya 2021 edition.

To date (excluding the ongoing edition), Nigeria has won 11 medals at the Islamic Solidarity Games: 3 gold, 6 silver and 2 bronze.

Blessing Oborududu
Blessing Oborududu is considered one of Nigeria’s most prominent athletes. She made history by becoming the first Nigerian female wrestler to win an Olympic medal, earning silver at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also claimed gold in the -63 kg category at the fourth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games – Baku 2017.
