Turkmenistan's Collaboration With ISSA
The National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan was established in 1990 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1993.
Turkmenistan began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the very first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.
Participation In Islamic Solidarity Games
To date, Turkmenistan has accumulated 46 medals in the history of the Islamic Solidarity Games — 7 gold, 11 silver and 28 bronze — not including the Riyadh 2025 edition.

Polina Guryeva
Turkmen weightlifter Polina Guryeva made history for her country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics by winning Turkmenistan’s first-ever Olympic medal, claiming silver in the 63 kg weight category. Prior to that, Guryeva had also won a gold medal at the 4th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games – Baku 2017.
