The Sierra Leone National Olympic Committee was established in 1964 and recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the same year.
Sierra Leone began participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

Aerobic Gymnastics Team
Sierra Leone’s Aerobic Gymnastics National Team, consisting of Umaru Barrie, Michael Fornah, Kehinde Ibrahim, Fatu Jalloh, and Elizabeth Kamara, achieved a historic milestone by winning the country’s first medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games after a 9-year drought. They secured a bronze medal at the Konya 2021 edition.
