Sudan's Collaboration With ISSA
The Sudanese Olympic Committee was established in 1956 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in 1959. Sudan began participating in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005, and also took part in the Palembang 2013 and Konya 2021 editions.

Nagmeldin Ali Abubakr
Sudanese sprinter Nagmeldin Ali Abubakr made history by winning Sudan’s first—and so far only—gold medal in the Islamic Solidarity Games. He claimed the top spot in the 400 meters race at the inaugural edition in 2005, finishing with a time of 44.93 seconds.
