The Pakistan Olympic Association was established in 1984 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the same year. Pakistan began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

Arshad Nadeem
Arshad Nadeem made history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning Pakistan’s first Olympic gold medal in 40 years, and the first-ever in an individual sport, after securing first place in the javelin throw with a record-breaking distance of 92.97 meters, setting a new Olympic record. Arshad had previously won gold at the Islamic Solidarity Games – Konya 2021, marking his second medal at the Games after earning bronze in Baku 2017.
