The Moroccan National Olympic Committee was established in 1959 and was recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the same year.
Morocco began its participation in the Islamic Solidarity Games from the first edition in 2005 and has not missed any edition since.

Malika Akkaoui
Moroccan runner Malika Akkaoui is considered one of the most successful athletes in athletics in the history of the Islamic Solidarity Games. She won four gold medals across the Palembang 2013 and Baku 2017 editions in the 400m, 800m, and 4×400m relay events.
